Mail order brides get a bad rap. If you examine the history of marriage, the idea of marrying someone you picked out, "for love", represents the smallest fraction of unions. Since its inception, marriage has been a means to improve a woman's status or a man's wealth, financial security, and procreation.
These women have all AGREED to be mail order brides because they feel their opportunities in the US are better than working in a shoe factory in Vietnam. And they are right.
The men who utilize this service are not purchasing love. They are hoping for a companion who's prettier and nicer than a girl they could get on their own in the US. Everyone wins.
Who are you to pass judgment on these people? Do you know what it's like to live in extreme poverty (average ANNUAL male income in Vietnam is $560 US)? Do you know how to cope with such extreme loneliness that you're willing to commit to a person you've never met? Obviously not.
