This sounds eloquent.
Damn though, the P.I's "Going Out" section in today's paper is full of great ideas.

Mezzo-soprano (Asian Art Museum)
Kurosawa (McCaw Hall)
Earth (Easy Street)
Hungarian dinner and dance (Alki)
Opera Preview (Greenlake library)
Killer Robots (Columbia City)
Indy Rock read (Elliot bay books)

Will someone post a TiVo of Bjork tonight on SNL, I'll probably miss it.

the slip formed as a jazz band and evolved into "indie rock"--one of the few occasions where you can see "indie rock" and hear musicians that can really play their instruments, and bring alot of energy to the show through improvisation.

'Indie Rock' and 'being able to Really play your instruments' is an eloquent oxymoron. Should be cool. Have fun.

In ten years, the Slip will be mentioned as often as Kurosawa, and I'll regret not seeing them back in the day.

I am pleasantly surprised to see The Stranger recommend The Slip. You do know that they've been decribed as a "jam band" for most of their existence, right? I mean, there will certainly be hippies at the show, and you're recommending it?

I really like the band, so it's great to see a broader audience enjoying their music. And, yeah, these guys can really play. Especially the drummer - one of the more creative and brave drummers I've seen.

weird, I am trying to get to the Stranger but keep being referred to Jambands.com. Please someone bring back The Stranger music section. Well, at least there's not photos of the Lashes anywhere...

No need to TiVo. We just caught the end of SNL. We kept trying to turn down the sound, and a few of us danced around like Bjork. it was awesome! Someone said it said like she was singing Wonderland! Now back to the rabbit hole!
