I totally get the objective of the club protest, but why make it so late on a weeknight? If the goal is to give people a sense of what not having these clubs around would be like (i.e. shutting off the music, halting service), then it seems like it would have a greater impact at a time when there are the maximum number of patrons, which I would think, if they have to do it on a Thursday, would be a tad earlier in the evening, say around 10:00 p.m. or so.
Doing it on a Friday or Saturday would have been even better: more people, more bands, more opportunity for patrons to "get the idea" of the protest. Certainly the establishments can't be all that concerned they'd lose $$ - it's only five minutes, after all.
