The Gays: Incapable of Synchro?

posted by on April 16 at 9:45 AM

Rome this weekend hosted AquaRomae 2007, the first international GLBT swimming tournament, including the synchronized swimming team “SyncDifferent.”

Even leaving aside the fact that the name “SyncDifferent” is an oxymoron, gay synchro appears to be a shameful bust. These blobby, messy forms: Horror!

Gays, if this is how you plan to behave, all willy-nilly, then get out of my sport!

It seems pretty clear that they've created a picture-perfect representations of an anal sphincter here. But one with a fissure--which smarts, I'm told, in chlorinated water.

I've always wanted to see a Bubsy Berkley rendition of this -- a la homo!

"Bubsy" would be proud.

Have we finally identified the sport at which Jen Graves competed at an elite level at?

You gotta admit, Jen, they ARE all synching differently.

I really think they could have gone with more colorful and festive swimsuits:( Where are the happy animated faces that one sees on those freaky gelatin headed synchro swimmers we all love and crave?

They suck, but that is pretty much how it goes in your first competition. I hope they had a good time.

Hey: that was the very first public exhibition of synchro those guys made in their whole life. They did their best: or are you telling us that the first time *you* performed in synchro you were 100% perfect? Come on, they showed courage just in doing it, additionally with lots of tv camera pointed on them. They can improve a lot, sure, but they did it at the best they could achieve: and that's the real spirit of sports.
