Anyway, I watched the show before I came here because if it's no Ari ruining my life with comic spoilers someone is inevitably going to throw around some announcement about the AI.

Onto more important matters: American Idol is getting out of hand, just as everyone is predicting. I don't understand how Sanjaya can at all still be around. I disagree with Savage's theoretical "boy fucker" analogy. I think it's Vote for the Worst behind it all, but that could just be me.

But to not even have him in the bottom three?

I look to Sanjaya to help lead pop music away from the boring "diva" style -- male or female -- of singing, that has rendered even the cheesiest pop treats into some kind of faux-Pavarotti, faux-Aretha warblefest. Then maybe they can get some decent tunes, and guys like Sanjaya can sing them, and the proper arbiters of pop taste -- teenage girls -- can be restored to their rightful throne.

And the Simon Cowells of this world can be cast back into the pits of hell whence they came. Seriously, the only reason anyone listens to him is because he's got that Brit accent. He should be selling knives or vacuum cleaners at the Puyallup Fair.

Sanjaya is probably safe for a couple more weeks, but he's toast after that...every year there's a ridiculously bad singer who gets propelled along by 'Vote for the Worst' and dimwitted grannies and tweens who like this type of 'performer' but they always end up going bye-bye around the 6th elimination....Phil and Haley Scarnato are going in the next couple weeks, then it will be Manjina's turn...or maybe cute Chris, then Manjina...

I'm not an Idol watcher but Sanjaya is clearly very popular with teenage girls...and isn't that a big part of 'idol' status? How many music superstars have incredible voices vs. how many package themselves well?

On a different note. While visiting my parents, who watch FOX news, they actually had segment on Idol and called Sanjaya the BANE of their (the channel's?) existence. This is worthy of valuable NEWS time? Not that FOX is news. I'm just saying...
