It's not that Reichardt doesn't represent the people of Washington - which he doesn't.

It's that he doesn't represent the people in his own Congressional District.

Not even slightly.

It's the hair Will. Squishing his brain. That's the only explanation I can come up with.

Good to see that Sherif Dave is an independent thinker, and not just a shill for the White House.

Oh wait... Never mind.

... especially if Reichert draws a stronger opponent than Darcy Burner in 2008.

Josh, Darcy is his opponent in 2008, and I'll wager a pitcher of Manny's that she beats Reichert next time around.

Indeed. If there is a candidate out there that can raise more money than Darcy Burner did (they'll need to raise $4 million this time around for sure), who will work harder every day than Darcy Burner does, who will dedicate more than the 16 hours each day that Darcy Burner does, then that candidate would indeed be a formidable force.

Perhaps you have someone in mind you'd care to mention?

Goldy, Ummmm, don't those of us in the 8th district get to decide who will challenge Reichert? If it is Burner, fine but unless you know something the rest of us don't, that has yet to be determined.

I think Burner is a stronger candidate than she was.

There has got to be somebody stronger than Burner. Somebody with a little experience and some credibility is all it would take to beat Reichert, but Burner is just another Berhns-Benedict.

With all due respect SeaDem, Berhns-Benedict never had the chops to do the work and raise the money necessary to compete. Burner's run in 2006, and the national attention her performance garnered put the WA-08 race in a spotlight the district has never experienced before.

The entire notion that Burner lacks experience is a well crafted red-herring from the Republicans. It is alarming Democrats like yourself have fallen for the frame. Nothing about Reichert's background is any more relevant to the constituents of the 8th than what Burner's business and tech experience brings to the race.
