She's still beautiful at 61. She got her start with Sayjit Ray. She's great in Kashmir ki kali, which though not quite as great as Teesri Manzil, is still a great Shami Kappoor film. Amar Prem is worth checking out too, both for Tagore's performance and for the superb score.

Well of course she should take thoughtful, even nasty criticism personally, her writing is her work.
I keep coming back to slog because the writers for the Stranger are great, sure, but also the comments are exciting, informed, and funny.
But if you refer to the thread I think she's referencing, it's nothing but 'ebags talking shit like "Shut up! Talk about art!". Those are the kinds of things one should not take very seriously.

My writing is my work, too, sniggles but I've learned not to get bent out of shape about it. Then again, I don't have a blog to scrawl on, and I'm not an A&E writer. They're much more emotional. *smiles*
You can count me as a vote for slogging to your hearts desire about just anytopic that moves your creative juices.
But I do think that the perspective of "war as performance art" has been under-represented.
The "Rumsfield as poet" thing was brilliant. Can't we find the artistic expression in an invasion of random countries?
Sometimes I get the honor of setting off the silly ire of trolls with my comments, and honestly, it does hurt. But there's no avoiding it, and the annoyance passes as reason takes over. Acknowledging their existence in any way is usually a bad move, though, as hard as it can be to resist. Sometimes the trolls dig themselves such a deep hole, though, that the opportunity for fun is just too good.
