That's a really cute article. The snippet that you chose to blockquote confused the hell out of me though. I thought "llama" was slang for something, heh. I'm dumb.

Looking back is fun, isn't it? Maybe you guys should post that bogus date rape story you went to press with years ago. Those were the days...

That lady (Ms Wilson) was a damn good writer, and I dont even like mopey white guy music. One of the best you guys have had. And you've had your share of good ones.

Yikes, I actually remember reading this article when it came out.

And, I also remember the bogus date rape story. (I know people who still won't listen to MM because of it. Love to hear Erica's take on it.)

Yeah, that date rape story really hurt Modest Mouse. Whatever happened to that band anyway?

And didn't the Stranger make it all up? Or was there a a police report and an accusation?

if i recall correctly, there was obviously an accusation, but there was never a police report.

Wait, I thought Jeremy was the youngest. He's only 2 grades below me, so none of them were in high school in '96.

Is this like when Bill Wyman was only 22 on the first Stones lp?

how could ECB have a "take" on it... I highly doubt she was there the night in question.

The woman filed a police report but never pressed charges.

The article appeared in this issue of The Stranger. Funny, but it seems to have mysteriously vanished, or at least I can't find it. You can still see a reference to it on the cover though.

@11: It's not up to the woman to press charges, it's the prosecutor's decision. Once she files a report with the police, what happens next is pretty much beyond her control.
