Lesbian Sex and the Single Teenager

posted by on April 24 at 8:50 AM

A Bentonville, Ark., man is seeking $20,000 from the city after his two teenage sons found a book on lesbian sex on a public library bookshelf. He also wants the library director fired.

Earl Adams said his 14- and 16-year-old sons were “greatly disturbed” after finding the book, titled “The Whole Lesbian Sex Book.” Adams said the book caused “many sleepless nights in our house.”

I’ll bet it did.

you gotta be kidding me. If this doesn't get laughed straight outta court, AR should be ashamed of itself...

Also, where can I get my hands on that title?

All I can think about is the late comic Bill Hicks ranting about the books "Daddy's New Roommate" and "Heather Has Two Mommies".

"I think it's sick! It's disgusting and not at all the sort of thing we should be telling our kids about! I am, of course, talking about 'Daddy's New Roommate'. 'Heather Has Two Mommies', on the other hand... quite a fetching read. My nephew and I wrestle each other over it every night..."

Mike, chances are that it wouldn't make for such a hot read for any male.

I used to work at the Tattered Cover book store here in Denver many moons ago, and straight guys would order copies of the book Femalia and kinda not be so turned on by it.

Is that what kids are calling erections these days? Being "greatly disturbed"? I'm going to use that from now on.

@#5--I woke up greatly disturbed this very morning.

I'm not familiar with "Femalia," but I would like to thank Matt from Denver for that link, only so that I won't have to go another day living without knowing that this book exists: "The Yoni: Sacred Symbol of Female Creative Power"

This is terrible. Boys should be taught about lesbian sex by established, authoritative texts such as Penthouse and Hustler, not some horrible library book.

Are his sons Beavis and Butt head?

I agree with Mike in Mo-it should get laughed out of court, but we are talking about Arkansas.

By the way, not to change convo, but The M's are worrying me. 6 in a row!!

So let me get this straight. They *sought out* a book about a topic that disturbs them, then they want to sue the library and get the director fired because of their actions?

I wish the "personal responsibility" crowd had just a smidgen of a clue as to what that means.

So did anyone else notice where this is taking place? Bentonville, Arkansas... does that mean anything to anyone?

Home of the Wal-Mart headquarters!!!!! I think it's time for some sleuthing to find out which Wal-Mart hack is responsible for this BS lawsuit and then we go string him up!

Books on Military Academies:
"Live inside the Military Academy"
Dewey Decimal number: J 355.007 WEIN

"The Whole Lesbian Sex Book"
Dewey Decimal number: 613.96 N552W 2004

That's not even on the same side of the library. What a doof.

Good find, Dan.

Well if you can't get it at the library in Bentonville, you can cruise the entire gay and lesbian section of the Wal-Mart.com website (yes there is a G&L subsection believe it or not)...

#9 Penthouse and the movie "Personal Best" enlightened me about the benefits of girl on girl love. I curse the gods I wasn't born a lesbian.

What's so disturbing about women pigging out on Doritos and cream cheese together?

his sons aren't 'greatly disturbed'.

and dad, interest in lesbian sex means your boys are STRAIGHT so fucking relax your sphincter.

If someone was worried about their sons sexuality and were afraid of them turning "queer"...(and I'm not sure if that's this guys concern, I'm just assuming) Wouldn't they prefer their sons to look at lesbian sex manuals over books on life inside of military academies? Just sayin'

Given the number of pages that are likely stuck together, I'm pretty sure the library doesn't want the book back anyway :P

@13-- you beat me to the punch. As soon as I saw that they "found" the book while looking for books on military academies, I called bullshit. Even in small libraries, those sections are in different aisles. More likely they were in the 613s looking for the Vivid Girls' Guide to Making Love Like A Porn Star (sorry kids, no good pics in that one).

And since when did public libraries have to bow to one whackjob parent?

Uh, SeMe, you're online, so I know you can get the news. M's won last night.

Wait, I thought hot girl/girl action was every straight guy's fantasy? Would he rather his sons had found The Male Couple instead?

I'm thinking the family was "greatly disturbed" by the sounds of furious masturbation all night long.

I've got ten bucks that the book got returned to the library with the pages stuck together; and that it wasn't like that when the boys had the book taken away.

Bets? Bets?

But if it goes to court, we'll at least get some legally-verified data on whether teenage boys can actually injure themselves via chronic masturbation.

I have to laugh now that the Left is getting a taste of its tactics used against it. Or are we to believe that the "right not to be offended" is held only by black women and air passenger Muslims?

I agree that this should be laughed out of court, but so should have the lawsuit against Southwest Airlines in 2003 by two black women from Kansas City who got bent out of shape because the flight attendant tried to get everyone seated for takeoff with "eeny meeny miney moe, pick a seat it's time to go", which reminded them of, well, you know. . .
