Mike Daisey is an honorable man. I couldn't have done that. Even after the whole process, I couldn't have done that, seriously engaged and then ultimately forgiven the guy. I'm humbled by how he handled that situation.

My favorite line in the whole saga: "I want you to remember that a liberal atheist has forgiven you today. I don't want you to ever forget that, as long as you live."

Beat me to it, Brendan. Hells to the yeah. I never had much of an opinion on Mr. Daisey, but now he's my goddamn hero.

Evidentlly, his fan base is growing by the second, if the number of comment posts on YouTube is any indication.

that is amazing. i'd really like to hear david's side of the story out of sheer curiousity: what impact did have on him? if none, it certainly has effected others. mike handled this in a way i'd hope to handle it if faced with anything near it.

i'd say he was the better man, but last time i did dirge took issue with me.

Man, this incident pissed me off, so it was nice to read this conclusion.

I'm with Fnarf - Mike handled this like a mensch. As a liberal atheist, I couldn't be more proud. I'm looking forward to seeing him live sometime.

I remember when I was a highschool theatre/choir geek, our teachers drummed into our heads the idea of respect for the performer and the theatre.

It's too bad these teachers are clearly teaching their students very, very different values.

I couldn't help looking this place up (Norco, CA)... even though it's right next to Anaheim and Riverside, it's a "horse community" where there are no sidewalks -- just roads and horse trails. The town's motto is "City Living in a Rural Atmosphere." Apparently the school mascot is the cougar.

The wikipedia and wikimapia entries are a little bare for such an exciting place.

Doesn't it seem at least a little odd that this "Christian group" from California was attending his show in Mass., completely across the country? Did they travel across the country just to make some sort of statement?

Norco is the Coalinga of southern California, in the sense that when driving by it on Interstate 15, you should close the car windows, or else you'll puke from the smell of shit everywhere.
