Dept. of Low Employee Morale

posted by on April 2 at 16:13 PM

Savage, knowing I’m stuck at work covering for him while he enjoys opening day at Safeco, sent me this pic, along with the message: “First beer of the season. It’s a beautiful thing.”

(In happier news, King Felix already has 5 Ks in just two innings of work. That, as they say, is nasty business.)

4-0, Felix has 9 K's through six, Sexson HR. It's got to be rockin' in Safeco right about now.

A coup,e thoughts.

1. Opening day is Seattle is a bit of a joke. Standing room only, tikctes going to the highest bidder outside of the gate As all the Hardcore fans come out for that first game of the season.

Any wanna bet if the get 50% occupancy tomorrow?

This is the biggest fair weather sports town I've ever seen.

2. The Mariners are against the wall this year. They have to finsih big or Ichiro is out of here. Let's face it, if they loose Ichiro they have big problems.

Looks like Dan has nice seats, lower deck, third base line.

I went to the game as well. Froze my butt off. Loved every minute.

First there was snowboarding. Now there is the celebration of baseball. I feel so so so let down. What is happening!?!?!

Dan just keeps getting straighter all the time. Soon, he'll learn to drive. Then skip the gym.

Not underdressing was a second victory on a surprisingly cold opening day.

It was a great outing by Felix yesterday, but we'll see how the rest of the rotation does to get a better sense of how excited to remain.

And in case you didn't make it yesterday and were power-bummed about not having direct access to the ever-entertaining jumbotron -- Kenji Johjima, favorite snack: Potato Chips.
