Media Well, That’s Settled Then

onHeadline over at the Drudge Report:
6th Graders Vote that Global Warming is not caused by humans…
It’s more entertaining than Drudge’s usual “Hey, It Snowed Somewhere Today!” links. Snow anywhere, to Drudge, is proof that scientists everywhere are lying about global warming. The opinions of sixth graders are about as relevant.

But are they smarter then a 5th grader
What those 6 graders are going to look forward to.
even freakier. Don't you love scientists.

mad science more like.
I used to teach 6th graders. They think all sorts of things, most of which have no bases in facts or logic. So in that respect, they are kind of like others who think there is no global warming
Public education money is money well spent.
that's funny, I *feel* like I'm talking to sixth graders when I have the misfortune to find myself discussing climate with my red sate friends.
I'm sure their teacher's dismissal of human-caused global warming had nothing to do with their decision.
Oh, and he doesn't believe in evolution either:
Perhaps not the ideal science teacher.
Whew! Glad that debate is FINALLY over.
*Dusts hands off*
Now can we ask them about that pesky Iraq war thing? Cause I can only assume that Bush is using those same 6th graders to make all his policy decisions...
Drudge's general intellectual capacity seems to be at about the level of a third grader, so I can see how he'd be wowed by this.
Yeah but we're talking about the same group who believe in Santa Claus, The Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy?
Though they are the source of such wisdom as,
"you can lead a horse to water, but why?"
"People in glass houses shouldn't undress."
and
"There's no fool like Aunt Eddie."
Sixth graders generally are too old to still believe in Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny. And man, even my first grader doesn't buy that Tooth Fairy crap (although he'll still take the money).
Sweet! In 3rd grade, we held a mock presidential election and my class voted to re-elect Carter for a second term.
But, like, then Reagan took office. These 6th graders are about to know how I felt.
Drudge and global warming deniers are both the same - deadenders.
I think it's a real sign of desperation that Drudge is trying to cite sixth graders instead of atmospheric scientists.
It's akin to citing blind people to dismiss a painter you don't like.
My first thought was that the survey was probably done in a red state, between the morning prayers and the "intelligent" design lesson.
Well, when those same 6th graders are 40 and have to wear protective suits to go outside and walk along the beachfront IN OHIO they might change their tune.
Good thing it's the 5th graders that are the smart ones.
Everyone knows your grades drop like a stone from 6th to 8th grade.
