money grubbing mess. $73.50? listening to NPR is cheaper.
Seriously, $73.50?! Ticket prices are out of fucking control.
im sure she is, ahem, a good speaker, but 73.50 to hear a squeaky midwestern accent? at the Moore? i paid $ 60.00 to see Tom Waits at the 5th avenue. for 73 bucks she better do some crumping while she is reading.
For what it's worth, the $70+ tix are deliberately pricey "gold circle" seats. Still, even $28 tickets are nothing to sneeze at.
And Seme's right: I would pay a lot of money to see Sarah Vowell crump.
Sarah Vowell she must speek highe kwqalitie for tiket prise. In Stuttgart I see speekar it coste just 20 euro. I bring food in pockit for save monie. This menyu: kandi bar, loose spgeti noodel, 1 crakar, juise in film canistar, 2 marbel for play wen boared.
Sure, you can purchase nosebleed seats for $28.50 (plus several dollars in fees, I assume) but that just brings up another aspect of classism in the entertainment (concert) industry. I think fans should have equal access to good tickets...the person who waits in line the longest should get the best seats, not the one who can afford to shell out the most $$$. The price of tickets in general has soared light speeds ahead of the rate of inflation. It's nice to see that people are working to get Ticketmaster fees included in the stated ticket price but whatever happened to putting a cap on the fees? And when are people gonna call bullshit on insane ticket prices? My guess is never...so when Madonna rolls around in 2012, she'll be charging $2012 per ticket. I can't wait.
we should "get" ticketmaster
Waits in line for tickets? Uh, what decade are you living in Red Wendy? Most people I know buy their tickets online.
For much less than $70, in case you have nothing to do on Sunday (today, April 1st no fooling) check out the Seattle Men's Chorus 2pm show at McCaw Hall - you could worse - much worse. It's a wild prediction, but maybe even David Schmader might enjoy this show - didn't he live during the '80s?
The preview of That '80s Show, shot at dress rehearsal Thursday night, is now available at http://flyinghouse.tv/making_that_80s_show.asx
The preview captures the great fun and contagious energy of the concert and is bound to result in last-minute ticket sales. Your last chance to relive the generation of drugs, dreams and drink through its music.
