Today the Stranger Suggests

posted by on March 27 at 11:56 AM

Wild animals have all kinds of ways to make themselves appear larger than they actually areŚcats arch their backs, cobras show their hoods, bears rise up on their hind legs. Ratatat, the slight pair of Evan Mast and Mike Stroud, pull off a similar trick, inflating their guitar/synth studio hybrids into arena-sized instrumental jams via the magic of multitracking. Live, the duo sound like an army of axe-men riding on loose grooves and bedroom hiphop beats. (Neumo’s, 925 E Pike St, 709-9467. 8 pm, $13, all ages.) ERIC GRANDY

These guys are unbelievably good live. I saw them in Copenhagen about a month ago, and the Danes were *visibly* enjoying themselves. This is huge in Scandinavia.

does anyone know if ratatat is sharing the bill? i've got shit I gotta do later tonight and if they start at 8 i'm cool but if they're sharing the bill and ratatat doesn't come on until like after 10 i'm PHUCKED. which would suck because i missed them the last time there were in town and i'd rather see them in a small venue than at like the gorge or some lame ass shit. if anyone has any info please let me know!!
