The Wages of Sin

posted by on March 5 at 9:40 AM

New Life Church—the megachurch founded by Ted “Competely Heterosexual” Haggard—has fallen on hard times. The church, which has 14,000 members, is in the process of laying off up to 50 staff members. It seems New Life’s members aren’t digging as deep as they once did. Pity.

That is awesome. Pity the poor bastards that lost their jobs though. I'm sure the JO at the top has his job safe.

My dream is for all the religious nuts in the world to wake up and stop tithing so all these churches go bankrupt.

I know, never going to happen, but that's why its called a dream.

Those fired will make out all right, with their experiences in the church they could alwasy work as trade.

this is the good news that just doesn't quit giving. because i just worked out, and am in a good mood, i can't help feeling that this may be the beginning of a crumbling institution.

Dear me. What has become of that congergation? Have they become the agents of secular progressives? The Lord does not like a cheap skate and if they do not pony up with the contributions to continue to do the Lords work the penalty will be most painful. If they do not start to give more to New Life Church the members will start to experience New Death Hell! Dear me, the Almighty needs hard cold cash to do His work here on earth.

The Lord will show no mercy for the cheap! Our ministers must drive around in brand new BMW's and live in multi-million dollar mansions. And if they do not start giving there will be nothing that will quench the thirst of Hell Fire that will consume their souls. In Jesus' name I pray.

Oh hell, they just let go of the staffers who had been caught "struggling with ... sin issues" and who didn't like having to be subjected to "discipline."

Too bad, eh? Bet if they'd given in to the discipline like old Ted did, they'd at least be grinning on the way out the door.

OK, everybody;

Ted built his church on sand. Bad idea.

What he needs to do is build his next church on the rock of meth-fueled gays who are in the closet. He will make a fortune. He will also be able to re-hire all of his disaffected former employees. God's Will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.
