Ah, but who DOESN'T support health care for all? Why, all the important "people": Mutual of Omaha, Blue Cross, United Health....
And guess who will decide? Mutual of Omaha, Blue Cross, United Health...
The guy who was most responsible for killing the Clinton healthcare plan was a jerk named Jack Weekly. He spearheaded that idiotic ad campaign with the moronic couple sitting at their kitchen table bitching about how terrible it would be to have a decent healthcare plan. For his efforts, he was rewarded with becoming the head of Mutual of Omaha.
A few years back, right around Christmas, he was leaving the Mutual headquarters building. His briefcase got caught in the revolving door, and he tugged at it impatiently. When it came loose suddenly, he fell forward, through the glass of the revolving door, which cut him severely in several places. He died of his injuries several days later.
And there are those who say there is no such thing as karma.
Good Riddance, Weekly.
No S catalina? That is wild! I only hope he sufferd for a while. Lord knows he had the best medical care available.
Too bad however many thousands of dollars were wasted trying to save his life.
You can't really blame greedy sociopaths like Jack Weekly mentioned above. Ultimately, the voters bear responsibility for the failure of our healthcare "system," by voting for politicians (mostly Republicans) who have done everything possible to shred our social safety net and tilt the balance of power in favor of for-profit healthcare.
Meanwhile, as the US continues it's long descent to third-world nation status, every first-world nation has nationalized universal health care.
And they spend HALF (or less) as much to provide the same level of health care that we only give to SOME of our people - but they give it to ALL of their people.
Results matter.
catalina, I love you. That story made my week.
