The Latest in Dinner

posted by on March 6 at 11:20 AM

Ever since eating at Tavolata a couple weeks ago, I haven’t been able to get the cannelloni out of my head. Oh man. And the conghilie with mussels and such? Oh baby. And the handmade mozzarella? Oh yeah baby man. And the fact that this place is OPEN UNTIL 2 A.M. EVERY NIGHT OF THE WEEK?!

Bethany Jean Clement says all this better than I can. She’s right. Tavolata is possibly the best thing to happen to Seattle at night ever.

i was there for a birfday dinner a few weeks ago and enjoyed what i rank as one of the best steaks i've ever eaten in this city.. the sucker was 50 bucks and meant to be shared between two people..there were ten people in our party and while only two of us shared the steak everything everybody else ordered was equally impressive and amazing..
and on a different note in a different restaurant.i urge all of you to get to serafina and enjoy a metaxa sidecar made with fresh squeezed oranges - i watch the bartender squeeze them..it's gonna be a sidecar summer is alls i'm sayin

So, who at the Stranger is dating this guy? Because I've been there twice and was extremely underwhelmed. It wouldn't surprise me if the chef was one of your friends. You people seem to have a hard time seperating criticism from fellatio.

I liked the Risotto, but the cannelloni? The veal cannelloni that's on the menu right now? I'm sorry, it was so stuffed with meat there was little else to the dish. I couldn't even taste the pasta. I know there are some out there for whom more meat automatically means a better dish, but I'd like a little balance.

So: it's great that it's open late, and the food is fine, but honestly if I want food in that area before 1am I'll go the Palace Kitchen. John Tavolata would only be my choice later than that.
