I worry this may be a new admin tactic -
characterize Libby's conviction as a witch
hunt, claim Dems are trying to trap admin
officials with perjury by grilling them until they make inconsistent statements, and Voila! no need to testify
anytime, anyplace.

Hope I'm wrong.

Yes, obviously she has a CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT to take the Fifth. However, she's not an ordinary citizen. She's not just defending her own bad self from prosecution; she's defending the central legal body of the nation. And taking the Fifth in that circumstance is EXTREMELY DAMNING. Gonzalez and his henchmen must go.

Offer her blanket immunity and she'll have to testify, she's a small fish and getting the truth out if far more important than putting the people at the bottom of the pyramid in jail.

Exactly. She shouldn't be taking the Fifth, anyways; she's not the target of anything. The Fifth Amendment doesn't give you the right to protect your boss. Immunity, then compelled testimony, then resignations all around.
