If that's the extent of details the accusers story is lacking.

A. She found them in HER room going through her stuff prior to the rape? Who let them in?

B. AFTER she found strange men going through her things she went back to THEIR room to hear them apologize?

C. They yelled "hooah"? Isn't that a Marine thing?

I know it's not fair to question a rape victims validity based on a news story but that stupid Duke chick ruined it for all the real rape victims.

I don't understand your intent with snide juxtaposition of your heading "Support our troops" Dan. Would you please elaborate? I suppose are you seething with Bush hatred so much that any anything negative about the military (like this awful crime) is appropriate fodder for you to extrapolate to a large scale. You need a sedative dear.

Well, this is straight rape, and soldiers do that sometimes. The real outrage is the one about the Air Force guy who raped the other guys. THAT'S a reason for keeping gays out of the military.

"Hooah" is indeed an Army word. Maybe it's also a Marine word.

If true, this is a tragedy and those guys should have their dicks cut off. But Dan, your headline "Support the Troops" was out of line by painting apretty broad stroke against anyone in the military. I have friends in the service, straight and gay, and none of them are rapists or murderers, and none of them like like Bush or the war he's got us into, but they do their job.

Those men claimed that they were roofied, but there was absolutely no evidence of this found or presented at trial. The defense argued that the men claimed that they were raped because if they admitted the sex was consensual, then they would have been discharged and fired under "don't ask, don't tell." Quite frankly, the defense's argument is a hell of a lot more plausible.

There are some 65,000 gay men and lesbians serving in the US Armed Forces. Why they would want to serve a right-wing kakistocracy like the United States that hates gay people, denies us equal rights and condemns us is still a mystery.

The moral of the story is that if you're going to have *consensual* group sex, remember to be classy enough to videotape the entire thing in case you need to prove your innocence later.

a. The article stated that the woman met the men earlier that night and they invited her to a party. If there were parties going on in the motel that night, perhaps she left her door open?

b. There was only one man going through her stuff. Would she have reason to mistrust his companions? Would she have reason to think they would gang rape her? No and no.

@1 & 4: "Hooah" started out as an Army Airborne/Ranger thing, if I'm not mistaken, and is also popular with the Marines, though spelled "Oorah." Not that that's really the point, but there it is.

"Hooah" is definitely an Army thing. I dated a Ranger and his unit said it quite often!
