Seacrest vs. Cowell: It’s a Gay-Off!

posted by on March 14 at 13:59 PM

When Isaiah Washington calls someone the “f-bomb” he gets sent to rehab. When Ann Coulter calls someone the “f-bomb” she gets raked over by Republicans, and fired from some of her syndicated newspapers. But when RYAN SEACREST and SIMON COWELL repeatedly call each other gay in front of a national TV audience on last night’s American Idol — well, apparently that’s okay. Why? BECAUSE THEY’RE GAY.

So is it okay because it's true or because it's similar to when black people call each other ... you know.

I didn't hear them call each other "gay" even once.

Um, why is this news?

Oh come on, nobody dropped the f-bomb here and it was fucking funny. Gay or not, Ryan's got a sense of humor about it.

I highly doubt people would be up in arms if Ann Coulter had said something more along the lines of "I heard he likes to get cozy with men". It's the word she chose to use and the way in which she said it. Simon and Ryan's ongoing tiff isn't anything near as hateful or demeaning.

It's just lame and embarassing and faintly homophobic and somewhat entertaining and why the hell doesn't Seacrest just come out of the fucking closet? I mean, is his career going to completely collapse? Does anyone really care? Don't most people think he's gay anyway? 'Idol' couldn't GET any gayer, anyway, not with Sunjaya on there....

I'm so proud to say that I haven't watched a single episode of Idol this season and have no plans to start anytime soon. The exception will be if Paula decides to shoot up right at the judges desk mid performance.

I say we start a massive campaign to vote Sanjaya in as the new Idol, putting an end once and for all to IDOL.

Sorry, monkey I call your "haven't once watched this season" and go all-in with a "haven't watched AI - EVER!"

Not that I'm a TV snob or anything...

You got me there. There was a brief moment in time where I kinda thought it was entertaining. I'm so ashamed.

DON'T LOOK AT ME!

Mike @ #1

As a straight white male, your question is too hard for me to decide. I'll have to refrain from calling Michael Richards a 'f-bomb.'

I could care less which one of these pole smokers is gay, neither is very attractive.

When will people just grow up and stop caring who does what with whom in the privacy of their limo?

Since when is gay a bad word? Is straight a bad word? Maybe you guys should care about something that actually matters.

Maybe Ryan is metrosexual, but I don't care. If it was available to me, I would smoke his pole. As for Simon, uh, no no no.

If Ryan Seacrest is indeed gay, he should come out publically.

I've always assumed that Simon is yet another bi-closet-case, despite all the girlfriends.
