Why did he bother changing the lyrics so the song would be about girls?

"as long as Sanjaya keeps distracting people from his lousy voice, he’s going to stay in this competition"

Britney Spears? Are you listening?

i was enjoying Mangina until last night...he wasn't even trying to be good/bad, he was just bad, and cocky about it...

last night was a train wreck; no, it more resembled the Hindenberg...when the best performance of the night is Phil 'Smeagol' Stacy doing a cover of the Police, you know you got trouble...

even my beloved lakisha and blake were off their games...(dear blake, singing cure songs is not the way to go to get america to vote for you; even people who love the Cure, recognize the depression factor inherent in their music....)

The "quality of the voice" has never had fuck-all to do with success in pop music. What matters is that special something that makes the little girls squeal, and Sanjaya appears to have it. The fact that boring old out-of-touch Celine-Dion-producing garbage bags like Simon Cowell don't like him is a huge plus, not a minus. Pissing off douchebags like Cowell is a PREREQUISITE for pop stardom. I think Sanjaya is punk as fuck and I hope he sells ten million records.

They can fix the voice with computers, anyways.

Oh, come on. His singing isn't THAT bad. It's uninspired, and by no means great, but he can sing better than I can. A little lackluster, but he can carry a tune okay.

And I have to say I LOVE the hair. I'd vote for him just for having the balls to do a hair job like that on national TV, regardless of whether or not he can sing. It almost makes me want to grow my hair long again.

I agree: I was turned off by S&M's cockiness, and his joke of a persona is no longer funny.

I was, however, turned on by LaKisHa's cleavage. I want her to be a black Beth Ditto, now.

Sanjaya rocks! He actually isn't a bad singer, as evidenced by his audition. But he is an awkward performer. I think he is taking it and running with it. Last night was awesome! American Idol is such a stupid show, and takes itself way too seriously. Also, anybody who wants Sanjaya voted off is taking this ridiculous show too seriously as well.

Well, he sucked as usual last night, but he made it through this week. I am thinking that Howard Stern's audience support is helping him out.
