Hilarious guy at times, one of the many that has helped Letterman along the way.

Letterman may have had a Bullock-ish "Premonition!" He was sick the other night and was subtituted with the latest goof-turned-serious-actor Adam Sandler.

I didn't even know he was still alive.

Oh, but to hear that maniacal cackle just one more time. Sadly, tis not to be.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think Adam Sandler isn't the least bit funny. I don't think I've laughed at a single one of his jokes. Ever. His movies make me want to stab my eyeballs out.

ahhhh, larry "bud" melman. one of the true unsung heroes of late night tv.

as a pot-smoking senior in high school, i sent graduation announcements to both calvert deforest and david letterman. i received very nice letters of congratulations in return. it was 1985.

thanks for the nice memory, dan.

I can still remember his delivery of the line, "and everywhere the magical smell of men enjoying themselves". RIP "Larry"

I loved his "Would you like a hot towel" bits.

The same thing popped right in to my mind. When Dave would send Larry Bud down to the Port Authority to greet people getting off buses. Larry would just look at the people, smile, and say "And where did you come from?" and then "Would you like a hot towel?" Good times!
