My god is that ever some shitty reasoning, ECB. If these activists were otherwise occupied with their conflicting obligations, then it stands to reason that they wouldn't be needing rides. There's no need for "However"s and "alternative explanation"s to reconcile these facts as they aren't mutually exclusive.
