Seely assigned the story and well, the reporter couldn't quite get it. Probably cuz it's not much of a story. Which is exactly why I brought up the Baird stuff.

Basically: Seely is hung up on this one story idea based on his cutting edge analysis that Sen. Cantwell is a bitch. And he forced it on his new reporter, and it went nowhere. So, she did this meaningless story about... um... well, I don't know what it's about. Cantwell's a bitch/she isn't a bitch.

Marketing and Sales may be BS in SOME large companies, but for those with actual products to sell they're two of the most important aspects of the operation, apart from fabrication of rhe product itself.

You can make a brilliant product, but if you don't have marketers letting potential purchasers know it exists, and people out in the field selling, you got nothing but a brilliant product that nobody knows about, and that nobody buys. The idea that a good product "sells itself" is both naive and ludicrous.

Certainly, marketing and sales can frequently convince people to buy a piece-of-crap product as well; the difference being that at some point customers will catch on and stop buying it.
