I always thought it was funny he called it the straight talk express because he is such an enemy of passenger rail.

But I'm a transportation dork, so that would seem funny to me.

Anyway, I should think we would have learned our lesson about electing old people after our experience with that national embarassmenet named Ronald Reagan.

Comment by catalina vel-duray

I've nothing against old people. But Reagan - and John Paul II, for that matter - were incapcitated by illness that were augmented by their advanced ages and should have been removed from their positions. Instead, both were cynically manipulated to acheive other people's goals.

Not that I was a fan of Reagan. I've got a pretty good built-in BS detector (to make up for my total lack of gaydar) and it always was off the charts whenever he opened his mouth.

Comment by him

How does that explain Bush II, catalina? He ain't that old.

Of course a GOP candidate's monitors would be tuned to Fox. His target audience watches Fox and he will want to address the issues that are presented on that network. That's like chastising a Dem for listening to NPR. And hey, Fox is "fair and balanced" isn't it? Heh heh.

Comment by Charlie

Josh @10:

People are surprised that McCain is a Conservative because he has talked a REALLY good game over the years. He's played nice with centrist Dems and made it look like he could be reasonable.

HE'S NOT AND NEVER HAS BEEN. That man is as conservative as they come when it comes to just about everything. Thank god that's being seen.

I pray that Guiliani gets the Republican Nom. His 9/11 "heroism" not withstanding, the man is much more beatable than McCain has seen.

Comment by Fnarf

On NPR yesterday they had some asshat "media analyst" talking about "liberal bias", and he twisted the example that the host gave of "Meet The Press" using a conservative Democrat (Lieberman) and a conservative Republican (McCain) to analyze the '06 election, as an example of two flaming LIBERALS. One's a Democrat, i.e., Communist (some of the time), and the other's a liberal Republican!

To people who think McCain is a liberal, yes, there is indeed a liberal bias in the media. Those people are called asshats.
