This issue was discussed yesterday in the morning news thread. Reno absolutely cleaned house upon taking office. Republicans had control of the executive branch for twelve years. The Dems had every right to clean house. Gonzales has fired numerous U.S. Attorneys several years after the Bush administration took over. Many (maybe even all) of those attorneys are Republicans, but aren't obedient enough for the White House. The administration is deservedly taking flak for this.

The Republicans "cleaned house" Clinton-style when GWB took office. This latest round is about getting rid of prosecutors for purely political reasons. Ideally, US Attorneys aren't simply wings of the republican party.

Show me evidence that Bush fired all the USAs when he took over, I haven't seen anything about that. It was notable when Clinton did it because historically a lot of Presidents have just let the old USAs keep their office and replaced them over time.
