Slog - Comments on Not Going

If this were the ideal city, the parking garage on Third and Pine would be closed and left that way, left unused, left to...

I am more concerned with finding a way to fix the parking and traffic problems in Wallingford between I-5 and Aurora. It shouldn't take 30-45 minutes to travel that distance.

I have no problem with an aesthetically pleasing high-rise parking structure (the old Blockbuster on 45th would be a good place for one).

I am assuming this new building at 2nd & Pike will have some underground parking available, but aren't we supposed to encourage people to leave their cars at the park & rides and bus it downtown?

I totally love this garage--but more the curved side on the north.

As I understand it, though, the developer is going to "clad" it with screens, so it won't look like this anymore. It's part of the same pseudo-"beautification" for which they kicked out Zaina from the space that used to have the hookah lounge. Bastards.

Imagine my surprise at finding out that that no-talent hack Koolhaas likes an ugly parking garage, or that another equally untalented hack like Mudede worships him for it. The downtown library is the most non-functional, pretentious, and useless pile of crap imaginable. I'm sure it looks fine in Architecture Daily, but it SUCKS as a place to read a fucking book.

If this were the ideal local newspaper website, Mudede would write his idiot articles in his padded cell and no one would publish them.
