One gathers that he was relieved not for the bad conditions themselves but for allowing negative publicity to sully the military. There's a crackdown on talking to the media, and the wounded soldiers who complained are being punished.

Wouldn't have happened without the Dems taking back congress. Damn the GOP are sooo despicable.

I'm sure that general controls the money being allocated to Walter Reed. Real sure.

Urgh, I mean the amount of money that gets allocated there by Congress and the Dept. of Defense.

Yes the GOP supports the troops, just look at the deplorable conditions they have allowed our Iraq vets to live in with the Walter Reed out patient services. Mold, rat and roach infested, no one to answer a call for help from the little hospital bedside buttons, then there's the overflowing urine bags left unattended. This problem has existed for years, and has been covered up. The Army fired the head of Walter Reed, the new guy who's taking over until they can hire a permanent replacement is Kevin Kiley, the same guy who in 2004 reportedly let a soldier sleep in his own urine, and refused to lift a finger when he was notified by the wife of a GOP congressman who had witnessed this and other horrifying situations. This administration tells us they support the troops! They have just proven their support is nothing but lip service. That and those little yellow ribbons on their gas guzzlers, fueled by the lives of our sons and daughters for corporate profit.
My latest cartoon deals with this flagrant disregard for our troops.
