RSS icon Comments on Cheney: Iraq Drawdown Talk is "Undermining" Troops

We've heard this before, but even if we were to except everything Cheney has said, shouldn't they have been able to predict that Americans wouldn't support a needless war that has dragged on for 6 years? It seems to me that part of planning for a war is how to end it, and obviously they didn't think it through.

Personally, the inaction of the Bush twins and Cheney's non-gay daughter in not enlisting for two tours of duty in Iraq outside the Green Zone is hurting the troops more, IMHO.

Sure, Dick. We support having American troops in Iraq for the rest of all eternity. We can't leave until every "terrorist" is killed or captured. Of course, the American presence in Iraq has created more terrorists and has become the prime training ground for future terrorists (ala 1980s Afghanistan), but whatever...

Is it not more worrying that the administration's unwillingness to respond to the elected Congress's decisions undermines the democratic process and the American people?

Cheney's argument is that if we set a withdrawl date, "Al Qaeda" need only wait until after that date to have "won".

But if we set no withdrawl date and leave "when the job's done" then we can drive ourselves bankrupt - in terms of money and human resources - just to maintain the status quo of Iraq in conflict. How is that not a win for all enemies of the US?

since al queda's strategery is working perfectly, might it not be the incompetency of the dumbshit administration's WOT plan? cheney had carte blanche to draw it up, and the congress offered no resistance at all - just greased up & bent over.

i cannot wait till jan. 2009 when i don't have to hear his insane vituperations ever again.

I just had a thought. Maybe Dick is planning his move to Dubai along with Halliburton?

Well, that qualifies under my concept of 40 years in the wilderness for neo-cons.

Even if they have cooler buildings than us.

Some ex-Soviet must've told him at some point that Muhajadeen payback is a bitch, and Dick doesn't want to be the first one to say d'oh.

Dick, I see they've been shooting down your copters with shoulder-fired missles....

Funny how Britain pulling out does not validate Al Qaeda's strategy.

Does Al Qaeda have a strategy? 'Cause I haven't noticed one. That is, beyond
1) Blow shit up.
2) Get with virgins in god's fantasy land.

@7 - you mean the same ones his buddy Rummy gave al-Qaeda back when Rummy and Cheney were best buds with them?

Irony, thy name is Bushie.

Besides FOX News, a few Sunday morning bobbleheads, and a handful of rats on the Far Right too stupid to jump off the sinking ship, is there really anyone left in America who gives a flying fuck what Cheney says anymore?

We should at least wait until after Halliburton's new HQ is all built and secured before undermining America in the Middle East.

Cheney deferred several times to avoid Vietnam, and has never served a day of military service. His popularity is in the teens (which is pretty abysmal, considering 15% of the population doesn't even know who the president is).

So why should we give a shit what he says about anything to do with warfare? Or anything else, for that matter?
