I just plugged into a translator, and this is what I came up with, but it's definitely not right. Someone who actually knows grammar will have to translate:
ASV dares challenge toward sexual minorities judicial opponents, who Latvian goals of the house of the ambassador.
@ 1, that sounds like a potential title for a Borat sequel.
If you really need a translation you might try the UW Baltic Studies dept. http://depts.washington.edu/baltic/
@2
Haha definitely.
The headline roughly translates to "USA begins investigation of sexual minority rights opponent, who misrepresented himself in Latvia as a White House official"
Oh, I thought it said "I am a turd, a stinky turd."
Eli, you rock.
Eli, that is just recycled DPA article, which V-Diena took from Latvian news agency LETA. However, in today's paper there is an article. It's here:

Hi, I am Latvian and can translate but only during weekend, if this is still needed. I am also involved with the Latvian alliance of LGBT people and their friends called Mozaika and wok in Brussels for the European Region of the International Lesbian and Gay Association (ILGA-Europe). Juris

I think it would be more useful to translate this one:

@9: Translate away! Would love to see both articles in translation. You can email your translations to me here.
The English translations of the two recent V-Diena articles are in your e-mail right now Eli.
My posts on them are on my blog. It's seems like there is a cleanup job in progress in Latvia with the principal players suddenly changing their tune about what they were told and believed.
