Arts Another One Bites the Dust; Expect More Street Theater

Tacoma Actors Guild is dead.
Eerily, the next thing to flash across my computer screen was an email about today’s production of the 365 Plays (Suzan-Lori Parks’s short-play-a-day project, which is being performed throughout 2007 in Seattle, Chicago, New York, Atlanta, Austin, etc.):
Tonight’s 365 plays will take place on the highway overpass on Pine (between Capitol Hill and downtown) at 6 pm.
Highway overpass theater. It’s the wave of the future.

Houston is also a participating city for "365".
Love the blog.
Unless, of course, we can figure a way to create more affordable space for arts in the city.
Sorry. I just like to say stuff like that sometimes to lighten the mood.
Shit. That's where I first trained in acting and directing. That's depressing.
While we're at it Joshua, maybe we can also figure out a way for board members to grow actual spines...
I think actual brains would probably do it.
Not when they can only think like and approach the problem as MBA's, instead of as trustees of arts organizations with histories that some of them are too young to know or care about.
Momma's, don't let your babies grow up to be actors.
Time to think outside the box, guys. The non-profit corporate theatre model has (*shock*) been co-opted. Sigh... guess it's time to innovate again...
Actually, it's time to never use the phrase "think outside the box" again.
