Would it be wrong to say that she want to fuck the shit out of Sanjaya too?

That's not me--my grill is gold. But my God, this Sanjaya person is awful. He can't sing. Or... move. Or... anything.

That's it. I'm going on a hunger strike until this kid is booted from the show, gets tossed out on the streets by his humiliated parents, and winds up doing gay porn in LA to make ends meet.

And this was his "best performance to date"? What happened during his other performances? Did he crap his pants or something?

I heart Sanjaya. He sang really well in the prelims, but he just seems out of it now. I don't know what happened. Perhaps it's all freaking him out.

But that little girl crying was the bomb. Awesome.

I think this is great; I hope people are voting for him because he's bad, just to keep it interesting (I know some are: www.votefortheworst.com) - way to undermine the whole ridiculous AI franchise!

She was crying through the whole show! From the very beginning! And the camera kept panning over to her - I was really scared for her. And confused by her.

Sanjaya is a zero to most
But he means the world to me
He's super kinky, maybe a cocksucker
Simple and plain
He's my generation's John Wayne
I'm a little girl and pride is a difficult concept
I'm in the moment and the producers fed me a date rape drug
Are Zero candy bars still available?

Dude, that little girl was DISTURBING!

Sanjaya's performance was F-ing fantastic! Howard Stern knows how to pick 'em.

Every time they cut to that little girl was the funniest thing I've ever seen. We were figuratively rolling on the floor when they cut back to her during someone else's performance later in the show.

Why the judges suddenly decided to say nice things about Sanjaya is a total mystery, though. Worst version of any song sung, ever.

I suggest that one can watch American Idol and still maintain their too-cool-for-school hipness. I'd never buy a single album from any of the previous or current contestants, but the show, as a window into American pop culture, is fantastic.

I think there's value to keeping tabs on what happens in that culture. And, there's something interesting in watching which contestants emerge from obscurity and are able to withstand the pressure of this new world.

Sanjaya is terrible; but, he's the contestant being talked about by EVERYONE. Nobody is talking about anyone else. And I find that fascinating; this kid from the ghetto known as Federal Way has something that people gravitate toward; Dan may have "nailed" it, but whatever it is, there's a reason he's still on the show, and a reason we are talking about him.

Let the hunger strikes begin. :-)

i think sanjaya is awful, but he's also pretty smart...he's managing to get the most publicity of all the contestants for being the worst, AND he seems to have figured out how to play to his fanbase...his performance last night was sort of brilliant...kind of, i know i'm not that good so i'm just going to go out there and have fun with it and see where it takes me...i really wouldn't be surprised to see him get a record deal out of this, or something...you know tiger beat is dying to get him on the cover...

I will confess, Kelly Clarkson is a guilty pleasure of mine.

i don't think kelly clarkson can be considered a guilty pleasure...she actually is a talented pop singer...

clay aiken WOULD be a guilty pleasure just because he's so oooky...

That by all accounts was staged with a capital S. The only bigger joke than this show are the millions of idiots who watch it.

Seacrest's "beat meat" hand gesture was much more disturbing:
