Forthcoming? You can rent Idiocracy right now! It's not very funny but will make you want to read Dostoevsky.

I just watched Idiocracy last night -- I can see the comparison to Dostoevsky, but I'm ready to get that taste out of my mouth now. How do I cleanse my palette? Everywhere I look, I see Idiocracy's vision of the future. Of course, that might be because I was just using MySpace.

The design blogs have been buzzing about both of these links for a few days. Check out the critical review at Speak Up. Interesting backstory on Idiocracy as well.

I like Dostoevsky, and I can't tell from earlier comments whether there is a relation between Idiocracy and Dostoevsky, or whether Idiocracy is so bad that it makes you want to read something good like Dostoevsky. Could you clarify? It will help me decide whether watching Idiocracy is worth doing.

Get good and drunk, play videogames with friends for about eight hours, then watch Idiocracy. You'll find yourself yelling, "It's funny cuz it's true!"

At least that's what I did last weekend.
