there's only one native Francophone, and she fled Haïti for St Lambert in her youth (aka she's not properly quebecois, though maybe close enough if anyone else in the band were). The rest are dirty Anglos. Arcade Fire is distinctly a member of the Anglo Montreal scene, which is surprisingly segregated from the Franco one, and no Americans have ever heard most of those bands except maybe Malajube or Les Cowboys Fringants (and I kinda doubt the latter). Anglo scene = stills, final fantasy, wolf parade and basically the who's who of Indie rock.
So, uh, to conclude, Arcade Fire != quebecois. Made up (partially) of Quebecers perhaps, but these guys don't vote PQ, whatever their lefty leanings.
Dear Eric, Re: What What What The Fuck. Where do you find this stuff? The video was technically 1980's, but the content is definitely 2000's. I am gay myself, but I don't think that I could ever have posted a video like this. Congratulations to the man who had the balls to post this. Oh by the way, the song is kind of good.
