As "The Departed" won, the voiceover woman cited its basis on "the Japanese film 'Infernal Affairs'". It's from Hong Kong, but I guess with all the diversity this year it's less important to tell them asians apart.

Gwynneth's dress is fugly, but still the best I've seen her wear to the AAs. Remember that ill fitting, boob sagging thing from the Shakespeare in Love year? Youch.

My theory to explain Pan's Labrynth's streak--that Hollywood's Mexican nannies steamed open the ballots before mailing--has been shot to hell by Lives of Others winning and the woman who actually PLAYED a Mexican nanny losing...

Anybody notice Miss Effie didn't mention the long-dead former Supreme her character was based upon? Or was she contractually bound never to mention her in public due to the differences in DREAMGIRLS' ending and the real story?
