Is there anyone out there that doubts Bush will pardon him? This whole trial has been a load of S.

The guy will get a pardon on January 20 2009 at around 10:00 AM. Along with everyone else who was "loyal" to Der Bush. Even though my secret wet dream is to have both Bush and Cheney get impeached and then we can have a female Pres.

Impeachment and a preliminary holding in GITMO sounds like the best choice. Let's toss Rove, Novak, and a few others in for good measure.

The reason I mention GITMO is that they will be pardoned.

I bet this plays out as follows.

Hung jury: Fitz re-tries him; or
conviction: Appeal to DC Cir. docketed w/in 10 days (required). Scooter will be out pending resolution of his appeal.

It will take 6 months or so to brief the appeal. Then the DC Cir will take its sweet time disposing of the case -- if it is a "liberal" panel the court will affirm and then the case will be reheard by the en banc court, they'll hold it until the day after the election and then Libby will be pardoned.

If it is a conservative panel, they will just hold it until after the election when they will reverse, and Libby will be pardoned.

Under no scenario will Cheney be indicted for his involvement.

The goal of the Bushies is to get the Wilsons, both Joe and Valerie on the witness stand. They want to subpoena phone records of the Wilsons and reporters, such as Judy Miller. The right wing, according to some of their blogs, feel that Valerie broke the law by passing classified info onto her husband for the May 6 2003 article by Kristof at which both Valerie and Joe were present. They want to ask Kristof how he validated the story of Joe Wilson's trip to Niger and how specific details, such as the forged documents, were known to Joe. Fitz needs to close shop and everyone needs to shut up or the game plan will be exposed.
