yes, nice article,,,I very much appreciated the descriptions and how you placed her work history in context...

and your choice of this quote -

“a faith not that we will know something finally, but a faith in not knowing, a faith in our ignorance, a faith in our being confounded and dumbfounded, a faith fertile with possible meaning and growth.”

Great article, thanks for writing it. I grew up on Whidbey and my folks are still there. My mom recently met Mary through her job and told me about this wonderful woman who was apparently well known for her art. It was a pleasure to hear more about her story.

93 and still painting.. that alone impresses me. This is one of the best evolutions of early geometric thingy De Stijl like modernism I've seen. of course at 93, she probably had the benifit of hanging out with Max Bill and Mondrian. Groovy. Will look at more of.
