Yeah, the Global Warming report with the happy news that it is too damn late to do much about it. I just would like to say the lefties have been screaming about this for DECADES!!! But hey, keep driving those SUV's Seattle and Mayor Gridlock, keep up the building of roads! At least I live on a hill in Seattle.....

The decision on Viaduct ballot language is irrelevant.

The Governor sent a letter to WSDOT and the Expert Review Panel asking whether the tunnel lite is likely to get federal permits. The answer is no. No federal permits = no federal funding = no state funding = no tunnel lite. She wants a reply on February 13.

Mark it on your calendar, folks: the obituary notice for the tunnel lite will run on February 13, even if the funeral won’t be held until March 13.

It would be great if someone set up a website documenting all the scientists who accept AEI's offer. If they want to throw away their credibility for $10,000, go ahead.

It does seem like 10 grand is chump change. But what does it take to be a "scientist"? Maybe anybody with a associatees degree in chemestry can be a "scientist."

Yea. I think the "anti-warming scientists" are the same guys as the "anti-evolution scientists" and the "smoking isn't bad for you scientists."
Sign up for all three you get 30 grand!

On the ATHF light display/bomb-

I am not sure if the city of Boston should be taking this so seriously, since they were apparently sitting in plain site, unnotice by anyone for a couple weeks. So if it was a bomb or something serious, the story would be Boston being incompetent.

Well, whatever you think about Boston's reaction or the light-thingamabobbers themselves, you have to admit that the whole uproar is *incredible* advertising for ATHF - all sorts of people will start tuning in just to see what all the fuss is about.

Just want to let some know that the ice caps, are also melting because of volcanic activity under them. Its not just coming from above sea level. the Earth has something to do with it as well.
We just kick global warming into high gear us puny humans. But if you step out the box and study other planets and there history you may learn something. Look at Neptune , Venus, Mars for example. Is our planet not capable of going through a natural change as well. And if the Sea is getting warm its because of Volcanos. And that is where the debate has been going in the Scientific world. This revelation is nothing new and it should get you people to think about the power of the universe a little more. We are next next for something in the cosmic dance of death and rebirth. Perfect Typical Earth Planet to uninhabitable gas furnace planet. We better stop what were doing and figure something now asap. and if its going to cost money so what. thats a lot better than spending money on fighting eachother on this planet. And NT2002 and some other Asteroids want to say Hi in the future. I hope we have figured out what to do then as well. But watching where our money goes so far and the Billions and Zillions wasted on War. For the last century. We had a good thing going during the Russian and American space race. What happened? Oh yeah the Pentagon had to get all military on everybody. We had to have little excursions around the world, spreading liberty and democracy and money like we were Santa Clause.

We are doomed.

Oh and that Planets do boil there oceans not an scientific anti-evolutionary priciple. Its fact.
And little electric cars are going to buy you and your future generations some time, but it will not stop Natural Catastrophe. Only if we start figuring out how to get us off this planet or stop that cycle is going to save our asses. But we rather spend the money on War and cool looking jets with laser beams. Our priorities are screwed. Thank the lucky stars we have scientists, but they come second when it comes to the War Machine and its needs. I'm not talking about the troops, they're cool with me.
I'm talking about the Pentagon and miltitary advisors (and that goes for Russia and china too) sucking the life and money from every endeavor for peace and exploration that mankind tries to achieve. Why do we need a new supersonic jet with laser beams , when we could start practicing how to deflect an Asteroid right now. The only money our scientists have now is to observe and theorize. But no one is taking any steps to enact training or steps to do something.
Whats that jet with laser beams going to do, fly into space and zap the asteroid? Has it been proven that we can save this planet from NT2002?
Are we going to actually do something about global warming or just conjecture and say we can try to save this planet. The next slogan for protest should not be "No more War"
It should be "No more Money"

Someone's been watching too much Star Trek.

No Keshmeshi i've been readfing this
headline for the past 100 years we've had a military budget, and fools like you didn't trip about it because your ancestors were all patriotic and had to have the goddamn HBomb instead of the man on the moon. War is more important to Us wether we are liberal or rebublican. In fact Noones doing jack. And all you want to do is now cry and wine about Global warming and
"No more WAr in Iraq" without knowing first how to stop it all. Its your pocket book friend. The Government is big in your money and we all spend it to fight the War. So if this slog would stop bitching about Bush and Iraq and maybe liberal war protesters would go to the source money maybe we could send a message. So go ahead and blindly vote the next knucklehead give the Pentagon everything it wants, while you wine about the War.
My point was why do we need super fast jets with laserbeams(read on the articles in military.com and all over military history and we spend more money there than anything else.

http://www.military.com/features/0,15240,123872,00.html?wh=wh

Pentagon wants 8 billion dollars more in 2008. maybe you all should pay attention more. and yes you can learn something from fiction. HG Wells predicted the Bomb you know 50 years before the project was beginning.
Einstein could have taken some pointers, and headed the advice of a sci-fi Nut.
Jeeze- "someones been watching to much ster trek"
Well someones been watching to much Government spend your money on the WAr Machine.
Nothing new, but don't wine to me when you all freak out about global warming all of a sudden and the cost and the politics and this and that. Wake Up people.

A graph of annual military spending since 1947 plods along at $360 billion (in constant 2006 dollars) but shows spikes to over $500 billion for the Korean War, the Vietnam War and the first Gulf War. Beginning in 2002, the graph skyrockets to well above even the most expensive year of the Korean War. U.S. military spending now exceeds all other nations combined, according to Winslow Wheeler of the Security Policy Working Group. "And our rate of growth [in military spending] is far in excess of the rest of the world." from the article. And you can't get no more closer to the source than the Pentagon or military.com so yes I may watch some Ster Trek but probably I know more about Politics, History, and Science than all you combined. I'm talking theoretically of course.
All you got is conjecture. I've got historical facts. Maybe if we paid attention we wouldn't be screwing up the planet. Or doing nothing about NT2002 so all this bickering and global warming and elctric car are for not. Who cares about anything anymore if we do not do something other than put money into the hungry beast which is the War Machine of this planet. It's all we care about and I'm sick of it. Other than the News watch the history channel, Then the military channel, then flip to the Science channel and you will see why I'm so pissed. And the politicians who want my vote are like BLah Blah Blah. We want your money. I'm giving my money to science, what are you doing. Giving it to the military...go figure.

Looks like it's time to rehash the "Super AIDS" myth. Total B.S. Just because a few patients have developed HIV with resistance to the current crop of meds, doesn't mean they can pass the strain along. Also, this story was submitted by Eli Sanders - Seattle's Condom-Nazi extrodinaire. I'm just not buying it - especially considering the source.
