Sorry. The Seagram's Building is one of the most elegant in NY. It floats above it's base. It's proportions are superb. And it concedes nothing to the now virtually universal norm that contemporary office building in NY must maximize the usable space to maximize return on investment, making elegance in NY an outmoded, obsolete value. Mies rules.

i believe that last quote is stolen from the film version of "annie."
i've always felt, and that picture makes it even more apparent, that the base of the building in comparison to the top was undersized.
