In Death as in Life

Classy to the end and beyond: Anna Nicole Smith’s reputation as a human gets worse by the minute, thanks to a variety of new allegations rounded up by TMZ.

According to this prescription, an L.A. doctor with whom Anna once attended a gay pride parade prescibed methadone to Michelle Chase, which TMZ reports is “an alias Anna Nicole used.” According to this airbill, the prescription was filled at a pharmacy in the San Fernando Valley and mailed to Vicky Marshall—Anna Nicole’s legal name—in the Bahamas that same day: August 25, 2006, thirteen days before Anna gave birth to daughter Dannielynn and fifteen days before son Daniel suffered a fatal methadone overdose.

According to these photos, the contents of the refrigerator in Anna Nicole’s Bahama bedroom consisted of cans of Slim Fast, a bottle of spray butter, a bottle of Worcestershire Sauce, some yogurt, and a bunch of methadone. (“It also appears there are vials of injectable medicines,” points out TMZ.)

Finally, according to this affidavit filed by Anna Nicole’s former nanny in the Bahamas, Anna Nicole/Vicky Marshall ordered her to deliberately underfeed baby Dannielynn. “Ms. Marshall knew that the correct amount of baby food was 3 ounces every 3 hours … Ms. Marshall insisted that the maximum I was to give was 2.5 ounces. Ms. Marshall was obsessed with making sure that her baby was ‘sexy.’

Granted, the idea of Anna Nicole navigating the concept of half-ounces is far-fetched, but still: According to the former nanny, Dannielynn “is badly underweight and not thriving, as a baby should.” In addition, the nanny claims Anna Nicole “attempted to commit suicide” on two separate occasions, once downing a bottle of sleeping medicine, and once trying to drown herself in the backyard pool.

Sigh. Between the suggestions of pregnant junkiedom and allegations of diabolical mothering, Anna Nicole is quickly burning through those weird reserves of sympathy that popped up in the days after her vomit-choked corpse was found on the floor of that Hard Rock Hotel in Florida. The more I hear, the more it seems possible that Anna Nicole’s heart pumped trash, until it didn’t.

I still think that her son was the baby's father. He offed himself when she was born because he couldn't handle the truth.

ANS killed herself when the impending paternity test was announced because she knew it would show her son to be the father.

Baby isn't thriving because its inbred, and because ANS didn't want it to.

Make sense?

It all just makes me pity her that much more. How fucked up do you gotta be to become that massive of a train wreck, in life and in death.

What's the nanny doing filing legal things about the baby now, instead of when she was first becoming malnourished? There's nothing stopping the baby's getting fed right now, is there? Better not be.

I feel dirty participating even a little in the circus of attention to this, but felt compelled to comment.

What the fuck is "spray butter"? And who the hell uses methadone as a recreational drug? This story gets worse and weirder. I expect it to continue for another decade as the paternity suit plays out. Have we seen pictures of the corpse yet? God, Rita Coooooosby must be having continuous orgasms all day long these days.

I don't think Anna Nicoles drug use was "recreational" at that point...

@Fnarf - I believe that the "spray butter" in question is actually "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter" spray - see it here: http://www.tasteyoulove.com/product_detail.asp?pid=5

yes, it does seem more and more that her heart pumped trash. it's hard to remember that these are actual people we keep reading about. they seem more like animals.

Jesus Christ, that's disgusting. I want to get a bottle of that stuff and carry it around with me, taking hits off it in public places, like it was breath spray. Do they still make Pam?

I can just imagine I Can't Believe It's Not Butter's next ad campaign for the butter spray.

I've seen an assortment of butter-flavored cooking sprays. They're apparently a staple among anorexics.

My dad used that butter spray stuff when he was trying to lose weight and lower his heart attack risk. He's says it's not bad... I never took him up on the offer to taste it.

So who are you. the resident pastor. She lived a life of sin...oh my god...lets crucify her. This publication advicates, party party party, drugs must be legalized, down with the war in iraq, blah blah liberal blah.. Down with those kooky christians and there morals. How dare they judge sinners like us you always say in this rag.
So what the F does Annas freaky life got to get you in some kinda rut for. she had a psychological quirk. So what. We all do. And i'm sure half your readers party with mushrooms, meth, and snort a few lines...so don't be all high and mighty on Anna. please. give us a break already. This isn't the Seattle PI or christian daily monitor is it? So if we feel a little for the monsters out there, it is probably becvause of the rock and roll and drop out attitude of your constituents the last 10 years. I got a question are you for drugs or against them. Meth is wrong, big bad meth. Crack is nucking futz. And the doctor who prescribes methodone , any of them should be locked up thats the real issue. Why don't you go after the doctors handing this medication out like its candy. To easy to prey on the dead and their mistakes. Just imagine if someone in your family needs to get kick some drug habit and some quack doctor crams methodone down their throats. Pill poppers are desperate people and drug users to. And yes I feel a bit sorry for there crazy life decisions. But I will not pass judgement, exspecially in this rag. Maybe you all need to smoke some meth and clear that muddied mind full of judgemental BS up a little. What are you guys a bunch of religious cops out to persecute us users and abusers, and drinkers and smokers and the addictions are to numerous to list? Is the Stranger actually giving a ratz ass, are they going to save us all from a life of sin? please do tell us how you will do that? At the same time I can realte to the argument you had, its just like my judgemental family... I don't buy it for one second you actually gave a ratz ass about Anna and her addiction, or her kids.

Dear Times Have Changed: I've started three different responses to your post, but deleted all of them, as it became clear you're not worth the trouble. You toss out about six different arguments, and they're all stupid. The day when responsible adult drug users can't bemoan drug abuse by pregnant women and alleged child abuse by junkies is no day I want to see.

So in other words lets ride them till they put the gun to their heads, or do as they are told. Maybe. But why don't you 'Bemoan' the fact that doctors get away with doling pills to addicts that only act as another drug they have to kick. thats what I'm trying to point out. she's the frigging victim. the Doctors and there stupid concoction called methodone is the issue. You stop that and maybe Annas kid would still have a mom. Its the american way for now though... pop a pill, detox and nothing changes, just the medicine.
Tripping about Anna, and addicts behaviors is one thing, actually going after the dealers and doctors , with there billion dollar industry doling out pills is a bit tougher.
And I have a bit more respect for the dead. Because i lost a wife who had a heroin habit, turned to pills to alchohol to kick it, then to pills, like xanex that the doctor said she should take to kick that habit. On and on till she died. all because she needed to kick a habit. She would probably still been alive if she just stuck to heroin. So either way I don't judge, I try to help. thats harder when you live with a addict. I woulda kick that doctors ass, but no He's the no all. friggin methodone. go after that will ya. And responsible drug use
is just a cop out term for addicts. Lets see, I'm a responsible smoker hows that one sound?

Hey its a free media. you opened yourself up as a target with your retoric and ignorance and this hip attitude of hey lets party, lets drink some 40s and smoke some pot and put crack addicts and pregnant women popping pills down so we feel better about ourselves. You sound like hypocritical ignoramuses sometimes. But you are welcome to those opinions and people who sympathise with Anna are welcome to theres. I do not care either way what you believe.
Just give the dead respect and shaddup about that will ya. And pour one for the homies. Oh but we can't do that, gangsters get no love from the high and mighty non sinners of Seattles slog community.

So why should we respect the dead? They're dead. They're not going to know the difference.
