Well, that's awful nice of the SPD to protect the identity of someone armed and dangerous.

Can't wait to leave work and get capped on my way home by some random nutball.

Even weirder, I just turned on KOMO 4 for coverage and they were leading with a story about a guy wandering around with a rifle in TACOMA.

Here's the KING 5 story on the Tacoma guy.

Are you sure that's not one of those cell-phone TVs? How do we know you're not out and about?

If Gregoire doesn't want to be near gunshots, she shouldn't go to Tacoma.

There was a line from West Wing when Charlie got shot at by white supremists who didn't like him dating the president's daughter. A guy told him, "if they're shooting at you, you must be doing something right."

I don't really think Chris G. has anything to worry about for the time being.

At least it gives them something more interesting to report on than that idiotic "Freezing Fog" frenzy from the other night. I seriously thought they were going to add "The Silent Killer" on the KING 5 promos.

Someone didn't pass the writing portion of the WASL.

Well, I dont know about anyone else but my walk home on broadway was interesting this evening. It included many of the "usual" crazies but also a man seriously walking into ThaiGo and another toothless punk kid walking past everyone doing an 80's movie-style bully-punch (you know, when they raise their fist like they're going to but they dont). He did it to me but I saw him do it to a few others so I was prepared. Full moon + sun = crazies!

Ohh here's my rumor: My trip home included passing by the Check Cashing Mart on Othello & Rainier Ave South and noticing that A.C.O.R.N. had around (5) people protesting the Check Cashing Mart due to predatory lending practices hurting poor working families. Of course this will not be on KING 5 tonight or any night.

You're probably just trying to rile those of us who live in nice, affordable houses in good neighborhoods with good schools in that derided place called Tacoma, but I saw FAR more crime in my years in Seattle than I've seen here.

For the record, while I was never shot at in Tacoma, I was threatened and trailed by muggers in separate instances. Does that count?

Perhaps it was a Stranger staffer shooting squirrel?

A former Metro driver told me that every day or two he'd get an "all drivers pick up your handsets" message instructing him to be on the lookout for a black guy wearing jeans and sneakers.

I wonder if they ever caught him.

- They look young and healthy and they are over 8 billion years old. -

That's the tie-in to the post?

Ok, I knew this guy -- intelligent guy -- who claimed that he communicated with people telepathically, and that there were non-humans disguised in among us. That's a guy who was also a former political activist, then scientist, then talent curator of a national theater. He did quite well for himself lifestyle-wise, and was very level-headed and 'grounded' if you knew him.

Like 1TITCTRPDEATTJT -- if I understand correctly, he was a pessimist on the future of humans and believed that humans were deluded about their dominance of the realm of existence, and that there were other beings (good and evil) hiding and pulling the strings. He believed conversely though that there was no point in fighting against it, but that one should figure out how to tune into that level of vision to be able to see it for what it is.

I let this guy try to hypnotize me once. He said it didn't work, but isn't that something you tell someone right before you bring 'em back?
