I was in the 7th grade. I was crushed. I hated Gus Williams and Jack Sikma, but really, I couldn't bring myself to dislike Johnson. As an aside, DJ’s passing is a “were you in Seattle then” line in the sand. If you were there, it’s “DJ.” If you weren’t, it’s “Dennis Johnson.”
