“And I Saw the Ear Float Away, and It Freaked Me Out”

That poetic quote comes from this KIRO news story, about a Pierce County dog groomer accused of cutting off the ear of the shi tzu pictured above, then super-gluing it back on:

Anni Sheriffius said she was trying to wash off what she thought was dirt on her dog Jasmine’s ear when the ear fell off. Sheriffius rushed her dog to the veterinarian to learn that the dog’s ear had been cut off by a dog groomer and super-glued back on. “And I saw the ear float away, and it freaked me out,” Sheriffius said. Jasimine, a shi tzu, had to undergo treatment for an infection. Sheriffius said she still has the ear in a plastic bag, and has been crying for weeks at the thought of someone hurting her dog.

According to KIRO, Pierce County investigators are considering possible criminal charges against the unlicensed dog groomer, whose business appears to have been shut down.

I didn't know Mike Tyson was dog groomer now.

Superglue? That would work, even for a limited time? Why didn't she sew it back on...the owner would've never noticed with all that annoying hair.

Actually, Tiz, Super Glue is very similar to glues used in medicine. Via Wiki:

"Cyanoacrylate is the generic name for substances such as methyl-2-cyanoacrylate, which is typically sold under trademarks like Superglue and Krazy Glue, and 2-octyl cyanoacrylate or n-butyl-cyanoacrylate, which are used in medical glues such as Dermabond and Traumaseal."

thanks for not missing that quote. When I heard that on the news my first thought through the laughter was "that would be a brilliant comment on the slog"
It's unfortunate that the little furr ball was in pain and had its ear cut off and I certainly believe that groomer should have their business/groomers(?)license revoked but when she stated "and I saw the ear float away and if freaked me out" so frankly I burst out laughin.
You can't write shit that good.

It's unfortunate that the ear was cut off, but it is really easy to do. It is really hard to groom animals well while they are moving. The shitty thing is that the groomer tried to cover it up rather than taking the dog to the vet herself.
