Chow All-Purpose Pizza: Bringing it to the CD
posted by February 2 at 14:28 PM
onHello! This week’s issue brings a fresh installment of Food Fight, the Stranger Food Quarterly which this season is devoted to places that will deliver food to your home.
Among the many venues featured in the package are delivery joints in Capitol Hill, Ballard, West Seattle, and the South Lake Union/Fremont/Wallingford triangle.
One place conspicuously absent from the Central District piece: All-Purpose Pizza, the beloved pizza joint at 2901 S. Jackson, whose absence from Food Fight has nothing to do with All-Purpose’s grub (which is recognized as delicious) and everything to do with Chris McCann’s recent Chow lead on the joint.
So, to clarify: All-Purpose Pizza exists, is good, and would be happy to bring one of their sourdough-crust pizzas to your home anywhere in the Central District and beyond. (The official delivery area runs from Madison to Orcas St. (north-south) and from 12th Ave to Lakeside Ave S, east-west.)

So, what does Chris' lead in in his article about Serious Pie and All Purpose Pizza have to do with APP being omitted from the Food Fight piece? I'm missing something here.
It meant we just covered the place two weeks ago.
But you're right, it could've at least been mentioned in passing in Thadius' piece.
(However, APP did make the delivery listings featured in the Food Fight issue.)
And all is now clear. I had never heard of APP before that piece and had promptly forgotten about it until today. I'm going to try it soon. Too bad I just moved from 17th and Madison to Eastlake...
We need more delivery places that aren't Italian or Asian.
All Purpose Pizza is amazing. Get the trio of extra sauces to go with your pizza - red wine tomato, blue cheese and homemade pesto. You'll be addicted.
I wish Ezell's delivered.
Speaking of the CD, why is The Seattle Weekly the only weekly newspaper I can find on 23rd and Jackson? Do you deliver Strangers anywhere near there?
You can get the Stranger at All-Purpose Pizza! Thanks David for reminding people that we not only deliver the CD, we are in it (or at least 2 blocks from it). Peace.
