Gregoire's "big deal" announcement (coming today?) about her intent to deal with the climate change crisis. As I've been Slogging, and and columnizing, non-stop, this is the issue of this year's legislature, and I'm concerned that the best idea, Rep. Maralyn Chase's (D-32) bill for an emissions cap and trade system (something also proposed by the governor of ... Oregon), is going to be abandoned. Indeed, I'm afraid that rather than adding octane to Chase's bill, Gregoire's splashy announcement establishing a "strategic framework for action" (ugggghhh) will end up displacing good legislation...
