That was a hell of a good movie. My only issue was the Michael Kane character. He shouldn't of been a Abbie Road Hippie he should've been more of a OK Computer anti WTO dude.

I thought michael caine was awesome. I think most aging bhang farmers probably look a little abbie road-ish.
And remember, he listened to some pretty prog-sounding music. Not like he was air-jamming to the Dead or anything.

Yeah, man, the soundtrack to that movie- most pointedly, the songs played at Michael Caine's house- was amazing. That film blew my expectations completely out of the water.

I think it gave me a foot fetish.

All my friends who saw this at the sneak previews loved it. Sadly, I had to miss it. Hope it was as fun as Smokin' Aces or The Holiday were - both were GREAT!

I liked it too, and since I have no other venue to express this, I observed a strong pet theme throughout the movie - there were cats and dogs many of the scenes. Discuss.

I also noticed it. My wife was like, No duh: They don't have kids so they have pets. Look at any urban center in the world: fewer kids, more pets. Of course, they also had sheep in the movie, so...

But to concur: Children of Men is terrific.

Great flick!

Fast paced and violent, yet full of quirky subtle interesting bits. The action supported a fairly involved plot, not the other way around (which sadly seems so common in Hollywood). I didn't buy into the story's premise completely, but it was an interesting idea, well told, with lots of interesting characters. Michael Caine was great; it was an odd role, but he's a great actor, and he pulled it off well I thought. Clive Owen was great as the lead; just macho enough to pull off the tough scenes, but enough of a regular guy that we can all identify with him. He's a very underrated actor.

The movie is a bit violent if you're squeamish, but for anyone else, I highly recommend it.

i saw this two days ago and i can't stop thinking about it. it was incredible.
i'm not normally into action/kill-kill movies - but i think there's enough of a pollution/war/stupid human aspect to it that balanced it all out nicely.

also - about the animals. i took it as an obvious way of pointing out what a *good* person owen's character it. remember the "wow, he really likes you. he never likes anyone." comment outside the barn?

and i still can't get over that one super long action shot. it must have lasted five minutes without a single cut. unreal.
