She may or may not still live in Seattle, but she used to work at a brew pub in West Seattle. There's a fair bit of West Seattle in the locations in the film, too.

Oh, and she's a Mormon, and last I heard, she's got one of them long-term boyfriends, too. So, uh, just add that to your fevered imaginings, I guess.

Also see: Piledriver, another film (a short starring Lindsay Pulspher and Lee Reeder which I believe was written and directed by Lee as well. I initially saw it on this series of tubes, but can't seem to find it now. It's fantastic.

piledriver

I found it a little slow, apart from the first montage, but perhaps worth it for the ending. I guess the stiff Hal Hartley thing doesn't really work for me, except in actual Hal Hartley movies.

These reviews perfectly illustrate the general reactions to the movie. People either LOVE it or HATE it. That is a signal that something in the movie gets people reacting which can only be good. I think.

Er, wishful thinking, much? My review was neither a pan nor a rave. (and it was of piledriver, not Little Farm, though my opinion of the latter is similarly "eh," as in, some good bits, some boring film-schoolish bits, not great overall, not terrible either).

Perhaps you should look up the definition of "general"? Aw heck, I'm feeling generous so I'll do it for you:

"of, pertaining to, or true of such persons or things in the main, with possible exceptions; common to most; prevalent; usual: the general mood of the people."

That allows for both your opinion on the film (an exception to the norm) and the majority that we see (love or hate). See? I know english. It comes in handy when bickering on the internet!

Explain to me how "general reaction" is the same thing as "everyone". I thought I posted a quite specific definition of the word "general"! I don't know how to explain it any further. But hey, you're just trying to save face on the internet by ignoring logic and arguing for the sake of argument. So keep on raging against the machine and all that good stuff.
