Not surprising. My brother was telling me that when they tried to organize a pride parade in Moscow a few years ago, the city's biggest argument against it was that "the streets are too busy" (which they are, but I still don't buy it). Instead, the deacons and priests of the Russian Orthodox church turned out onto the streets in their robes, waving their icons around.

Makes me glad I got the hell out of there in time.
