The Institution of Marriage, Take II

posted by on January 30 at 16:48 PM

Savage, I think you’re on to something… Also, I’ve seen a mother-in-law have a panic attack, um, a groom pass out at the altar—but I’ve never seen a girl with pre-wedding jitters like the one in this video. Turn the sound DOWN, and watch all the way to the end… holy wow.

I do not condone the use of illegal pharmaceuticals, but someone please give this bride-to-be a bong rip.

I wonder how she feels about this going up on YouTube--and what sort of sounds she made after she found out about it. I bet the bitch with the camera is dead.

I think this might be faked.

I LOVE the bridesmaid who was so clearly enjoying the whole scene.

Could be fake. We don't actually see the hair on the floor getting cut off her head.

Who cares if it's fake. IT'S FUNNY!

Groom to be will be the proud papa to many a 4am argument, uh, perhaps.

I don't think it's fake. I think that's Grade A 100% genuine psycho right there.

Either way it’s entertaining. But, being a gay guy and all, are scissors a typical item brought to the bridal suite to prepare for the wedding? Watching a second time, things seemed less spontaneous

I once did a lesbian ceremony/reception at the Olympic Hotel where the mother of the bride had to be carried out of the service.

I saw her later during the reception, and asked her if she was feeling better.

She told me she was fine, but as the mother of the bride, she felt like it was her duty to be overcome with emotion.

I love a mother who understands her role. Great story.

could be fake...in the beginning especially, it looks a little like she's trying not to laugh. But then again, she could be just hysterical.
If it is fake, it's hilarious. If it's real, it's really uncomfortable to watch. So I'm leaning towards fake.

I hate that so many things are faked. Because this? Is fucking hilarious. I love that the camera girl and the one other chick are cracking up.

Wonder if the mayor went off about cutting the size of his tunnel like the bride did about her hair? After his session with Christine.

This has improv geek written all over it. I vote fake too, but the funniest thing I've seen all morning.

Not fake. Yes, scissors are standard fare for the bridesmaids; they're wearing new dresses and new shoes and new who knows what else, so scissors are required for loose threads, price tags, wrapping, etc.

And we most certainly do see her cutting the hair that winds up on the floor; maybe you need to watch it again. This is the real shit. I worked in hotels for 15 years, and did hundreds of weddings, and the only thing unusual about this scene is that they didn't successfully stop her from cutting off her hair. I fucking hate brides.

It's fake. The hotel room is too tidy and the camera angles are too good.

i dont think this is fake, so that being said, if i were watching this as the future husband i would divorce her the next day. its fucking hair. thats all. dead skin cells.

I definitely think it's fake, but it's still funny. As soon as the bride burst in the room and started freaking out, it just sounded like really shitty acting, not real emotion behind it. The cutting was definitely done, but it's such a crappy pic, you don't know if they're just cutting off a wig or extensions.

If it was real, and I was there, I'd be one of the bitches laughing!

What bride goes to the salon alone on the day of her wedding? One of those bridesmaids would have been there, or her mother, to manage the stylist(s).

Perhaps posted elsewhere already, but the video is definitely a fake:

The fact that Dan Savage (the rag's EDITOR) thinks this video is real says a lot about The Stranger. Read at your own peril.
