Praise the Fucking Lord

John Kerry to announce his ‘08 intentions—and they don’t involve running for president. What did him in? Well…

…according to Kerry associates, the senator’s plans changed dramatically in the fallout of his election-eve “botched joke” about the education levels of US troops. The harsh reaction to that incident—from many Democrats as well as Republicans—displayed to Kerry the extreme skepticism within his own party about whether he should mount another run.

Now if we can just get Gore to run, we can have Gore/Obama 2008 and I won't need a new sticker for my car.

I'm for Gore/Obama -- I was ranting about a G/O ticket to Eli just the other day.

What about Clinton/Gore? It worked before.

Considering we are one more stroke, heart attack or plane crash from a Senate run by Dick Cheney. I honsetly think the Jr Senator from Boston needs to defend his freaking senate seat in 2008 so we don't loose another senate seat ala John Edwards.

I fucking love Senator Feingold, Howard Dean and Al Gore but they are not running in 2008 so I am not getting involved in the presidental primary so when Clinton or some other DLCer gets the ticket I will not be that let down.

Will, do you have a policy of repeating certain things over and over again, thinking that they will eventually become reality? E.g., "Underwater tunnel," "Gore/Obama"?

Not that I think it is a bad idea, but I have been wondering why you seem to say the same thing every chance you get.

With Gore as his VP.

Feingold/Obama or Feingold/Clinton would be great. It would set up Obama or Clinton for a presidential run after they have proved themselves in office. Just my 2 pennies.

Feingold would be the win for sure. I like Gore a lot but will people please shut the fuck up about Clinton. The only good thing that could come out of that is Bill as the first, first-gentleman.

Monique, Feingold already stepped aside a month or two ago. I am all for Gore/Obama! And the best part is Gore can win Presidential elections!! He did it before!!!!

@5 - it works, don't knock it.

@4,

So Jake - am I correct that you've somehow lumped Obama in the DLC camp? Please explain. I definitely don't lump him in with Clinton, etc - I see him as an inspiring and refreshing candidate - but that's just me.

@10 -"Feingold FTW" LOL....can that be his tag-line?

@9- He would be wise to opt-in later, once all the hooplah has died down and everyone is sick of the other candidates rhetoric. But I can understand him not putting himself in the race for '08.

No I did not say that Obama is a DLCer. I give him mad props in 2004 for telling them off after DLC.org tried to claim him as one of their own.

I think Obama is a great guy but I don't think a guy who is not even through his first term in the Senate can win in the circular firing squad Democratic primary deathmatch. Call me a bitter Deaniac.

I am also a bitter Deaniac - but I think he has that undefinable "it" that Dean was missing. There are a lot of bitter Deaniacs who are going to Obama meetups, etc.

It's too early to write anyone off yet (except Kucinich, and Gravel and Vilsack) - if he can come in second in Iowa (behind Vilsack), and come in ahead of Hillary in NH, I think we'll have a race on our hands, and it's a race that I think Obama can win.

We'll just have to wait and see. Sitting out and letting Hillary win really isn't an option.

Obama seems great and all, however I don't know enough about him or his politics or his experience to say I'd vote for him.

From what I've witnessed in the people I know, 1/2 of the ones screaming his name like teenagers at a rock-concert know exactly fuck-all about him. As good of an option as he may be for Indecision 2008, I don't believe his party will let him have the nomination due to lack of experience.

So we'll probably get stuck with listening to Hillary back-pedal for the next 8 years.

"Bitter Deaniac" is redundant.
